Happy Dreams

In the middle of nowhere

Well it never goes as expected. I was at work, finally on time, i am ready to start working, but when i try to login some kind of error occurs. Well i can fix this, i thought, but as the time was running faster then i could get any ideas what is even happening, one girl came to help me. A big queue was standing behind us, and as promising as her actions seemed, she suddenly closed the screen and said it’s not going to happen. Okay, let’s go straight to our places (we usually have to login before we go to our workplace). So we quickly ran to our places, because the next people were waiting for us to change them so they could go home. While i was running I noticed I didn’t have any shoes. I couldn’t go there without shoes, what to do now. I was struggling to make a decision, although going without shoes wasn’t even an option, but still, so much time already passed, I knew how the people were waiting for them to be changed. I didn’t know how I could explain myself being so late if someone saw me wandering around the building, so a great idea came into my mind – I will take a ride in an elevator. So I quickly jumped in, pressed the button down. I went out and soon enough I realised I didn’t recognise this place. It took a while for me to realise maybe it is the wrong floor. So i jumped in the elevator again, it was dark and this time there was no floor. I thought – I am dead. But somehow I managed to climb down the walls and I got somewhere, I jumped out of the elevator and… again had no idea where I was. I was outside on a street and I realised that I am somewhere in Asia. As I was walking around very confused someone started shouting at me and I realised I was being chased. I quickly started running in this unfamiliar place. I went through fish markets, through narrow streets and even some buildings. Then I got accompanied by another running man who turned out to be a chinese friend of mine. He suddenly stopped running and we started talking. He asked me – why are you so late, we had agreed to meet earlier. Even Though i didn’t have any idea what he was talking about, I explained what had happened to me. Well we made some kind of agreement and he left me alone. After wandering around for a couple of minutes I met my boyfriend, sister and mom. And whe just kept walking and walking and talking, and whe got so distracted that we found ourselves to be in the middle of nowhere. But yet  this place was familiar, because it turned out we have lived here -somewhere in Arabia, for more than five years already. We were going to a small abandoned house made from wood. Everything around looked like desert, there was nothing besides reddish sand and that one house. While we were walking we noticed that far away there were two strangers walking. They noticed us and started whistling and making gestures with hands for us to follow them. I said – why are they doing that, we are not going to follow some strangers for no reason, we wanted to go to that house, so let’s go. But there was happening something weird, all the sand seemed to get slowly covered with water, I couldn’t tell if it was mirage or what. We kept walking to that house, when we finally reached it I turned around to take a look at the sand again, and because the house was little up in the mountains I could finally see what was happening. Indeed there was water everywhere, there were people running in one direction, there were helicopters with nets evacuating people, some cars, buses and excavators. I said that we need to run, it looks bad, soon we won’t get away, we need to leave this place too. But my boyfriend insisted that we need to first go into that house. I could see that the house was important to him, but couldn’t remember why, probably someone close used to live there. We went inside, the reason my sister went inside was – she wanted to wash her hands, boyfriend – wanted to look at some papers, me and my mom – we didn’t have any reason, we were just waiting for them two. I heard a big noise and took a look out the window – the little river which was coming straight to our house now was overflowing and a big wave of water was coming just our way. I screamed – watch out, but just some splatters of water reached us. So it was time to go, and what do you know, our car was outside. So we got in it but there was such a long line with cars behind us waiting for us to move. We started driving, the road wasn’t too good, but still all the cars wanted to overtake us. I told that to my boyfriend and he immediately hit the gas and that was crazy. We started a very scary drive. We had to decide to go left where everything already might be flooded or to go right although we didn’t even know where the road would take us. Boyfriend decided to go right. Further the road got very very narrow, but everyone was keeping up the speed and just in a turn my boyfriend decided to hit the gas very strongly and the car flew away into the forest. We flew in the forest for a while and then landed terribly. I thought that we are going to be stuck here now, no escape for us but for a surprise we kept on going till we reached the final destination. There were loads of cars and people and the first thought came into my mind that we are not going to get away because there will be limited spaces and since we are not natives we definitely won’t get picked as the first ones. We got out of the car and my boyfriend told us to go, my mom and sister did, but I asked him what he was doing, let’s go. He angrily told me to go away, and I told him I will wait. Then he went to the car. It’s not even that bad, it got only some big scratches,- i said. Not that bad? Just look at it, look at the roof it is bended, it’s terrible, – he was shocked about my words. But yet we had to leave the car, we were going to take a bus to get away from here. Suddenly my boyfriend started crying and kissing the car – this is the best car i ever had, you were so good i’m sorry i have to leave you here. As surprised as i was, I still respected his actions so I went to it aswell and said some good words too. My mom had met a woman who wasn’t Arabic as well. She said that we can take an express ride with another bus. We went into a building and she showed us our ticket. 83 euros, that was the price I saw, and that was only for one person, we can’t afford this we are four. I felt so devastated. The woman selling the tickets yelled to us that a ticket only isn’t enough, you still need some other stuff as well. Great, this is a nightmare, no hope for us. After a long time i found out that the price wasn’t 83 euros but 83 coins in Arabic money, and it turned out to be only 2 euros. We somehow got everything we needed. The bus was waiting for us. Finally  there was hope.
